ADDRESS- 50 BRIDGE ROAD IN THE TUBAC COMMUNITY CENTER
DATES-FEBRUARY & MARCH
WE WILL OFFER THE BUDDHA'S TEACHINGS
EVERY SUNDAY
8:30AM - 10:00AM
AFFIRMATIONS, MEDITATION, REFLECTION AND DISCUSSION
A DEEP BOW to Warren Santoro and Jo Anne Kiser who initiated a welcome to the Tubac Buddhist Meditation Community from Rev. Joan Jiko Halifax, the Abbot of Upaya Zen Center Santa Fe to become a "Seed Sangha". The name "Seed Sanghas" refers to like-minded communities of practice and service that are dedicated to awakening in others and ourselves and in cultivating the heart of the Buddha.
"It is with this deep honoring and understanding that the Upaya community is supporting Seed Sanghas in many parts of the world. Seed Sanghas gather locally and in person, practice together and join together in acts of service as socially and environmentally engaged sanghas. They are grounded in the tradition of Upaya and follow the teachings of Roshi Joan Halifax and the spirit of Thich Nhat Hanh and Roshi Bernie Glassman".

In the spirit of Valentine's day, Brent Land and Katie Munger will speak about loving without attachment versus love that is clinging. This will be a playful and heartfelt dialogue about impermanence as it relates to relationships.
Katie’s story is a reminder that healing isn’t just about techniques—it’s about connection, presence, and being a part of something larger.
I’m an Arizona native, raised in Tucson and practicing in Tubac (population 1,581). I moved to Santa Cruz county over 20 years ago after graduating from the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. This community raised me and my family in every way. Word of mouth really means something in a small community. I have never advertised aside from having business cards. I think my success is due to my connection to other healers and service providers in the area. I attend sweat lodges, cacao ceremonies, yoga and mediation classes taught at the community center, and train at the local gym. I do trades with massage therapists and the hair dresser down the street. I support activities and services in my area because it’s how I want to spend my resources. People know me personally and then want to experience and support my work too.
I was invited to speak at the high school in Rio Rico. Did you know that acupuncture is now included in the career aptitude test given to students? I did a short introduction alongside a first responder, a physical therapist, and a phlebotomist. I brought needles to show the attendees and talked about electromagnetic Qi. Afterwards ten different people asked for my contact information.
Katie also teaches weekly yoga classes at Great Body Soul at 8am and Monthly classes in the Yurt at Santa Rita Lodge in beautiful Madera Canyon. Call or TEXT
About Acupuncture:
Acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into specific body points to trigger natural healing, relieve pain, and balance energy (qi), working by stimulating nerves, muscles, and connective tissues to release endorphins and neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which helps with conditions from chronic pain (back, neck, headaches) to nausea, anxiety, and fertility issues.
